This is probably the MOST tame response to that adaptation I've ever seen. Personally, I could never be that tame in my response for that epic monstrosity. LOL. The Inheritance Cycle is one of my favourite series of books and they /completely/ killed it, burned it, blew it up, and then stepped on its nads. But for something to properly contribute to the thread, I think my favourite movie has to beeee... The Gamers: Dorkness Rising. If you've never seen it, look it up. It's low budget, but it's hilarious. The Gamers was just a college video project. But they got backed with Kickstarter and made two more movies. Dorkness Rising being focused on a D&D game, while the third one (which is a direct sequel to Dorkness Rising) is more heavily focused on a game that's meant to be like Magic: The Gathering. Both are great, but Dorkness Rising is far better than it's sequel.
Dorkness Rising is great, I hadn't even thought about that... Good pick. I definitely recommend it to tabletop fans, comedy fans, and anyone who doesn't mind a lower budget film as well.
Beat me to it. Gotta say though, for me it's probably got to be The Grand Budapest Hotel. Saw it a month ago, absolutely loved it.
Of all time? Hmmm. *strokes chin a little* Dr. Stranglove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb It's a must watch with delightful political comedy. A little digging into the story revolving around the movie makes all the little details much more intense! Enjoy the good watch!
The Punisher (2004). That shit is so fucking amazing, you have no idea. As a huge Punisher fan, it is the BEST Punisher flick out there.
Oooooo~~ Sunshine was so worth watching in the theaters! It only played for a week in my area and I was so happy I spent the $7 when I did. Man, what a story! Requiem for a Dream is a good insight on to hard drugs ruining someone's life in many ways. It was a nice work of art with a grand message I still get goosebumps when I run over a few choice parts of that flick! Another good one was Pi! Oh man, that was fun! If you like moves that involve math and/or conspiracy, Pi is worth your time!
A monster in Paris While it's likely not my favorite of all time, it's definitely up there. The Animation's pretty good, most of the characters are enjoyable (except for the main bad guy who I have concluded is a literal psychopath) and the music is damn good. It's a fun little interpretation of the whole"beauty and the beast" sort of plot line, and hey, it's on Netflix, so why not check it out when you have the time?
