Update 2/18: Enraged Koala

I deletd all mods but my characers are corrupt (probably cause of the delete). Im hanging on till the mods update simply because I have rare cosmetics I want to keep

 

You mean like procedurally generated stuff? You can pretty much spawn anything that isn't generated. Either way I'm gonna say it again, I'm happy to help people rebuild.

 

Well does the inventory editor allow me to grab the cosmetics? Because if thats the case I can happily dump my old files. I just want to keep my top hat, captains hat and fancy hat

 

I dunno about the inventory editor, but you can spawn those in single player with creative mode.

 

You can? I had no idea you could spawncosmetics

 

I've had ishes with creative mode... The inventory editors I've seen seem to require you have the item first (or at least the code), so you can adjust the quantities you have. That's part of why I'm trying to build up a little cache of stuff for people who're really stuck, or just afraid to do anything else that might theoretically jeopardize their saves.

 

So, reinstalling didn't help, so what? Just wait for Chuckle fish to come out with another patch?

Try restarting your computer,maybe run a diagnostic too?

As I am not even close to computer savvy, I must ask; how exactly does one run a diagnostic?

 

Like a virus scanner. I have one that finds corrupted and broken files to repair them after a bluescreen

You could download and use a program called CCleaner, it removes files that might be leftover from your old starbound installation. I think I remember a similar problem with games were fixed by doing that.

Also, if you need an antivirus download MalwareBytes.

 

So is the server even running anymore?

 

Yes, but it's down right now while Kaz does some things. This last patch is kinda been wonky for a lot of people.

 

Huh, alright its just every time i try to login it cant connect so I didn't want to sit there forever trying to join an offline server

 

Yeah, the patch + hotfixes really rocked the sever. Characters, ships, and even a few planets being all messed up. Just settle down and hang tight while the wonderful staff gets things sorted out.

 

Yeah, while I've kept my character and (most of) my ships, I've had to reset ships to regain my storage and then spend a few hours mining sector X just to get fuel/ore/pixels that were lost from being in the storage. Seeds and trees will be harder, but I knew I'd have to do these sort of things walking in because beta.
