Okay, I got one. Sparta under siege. Before I ruled, the Roman Empire's invasion of the free world, led by the Emperor Tiberius, mercilessly spread towards our land. We watched helplessly as Athens fell and the rest of Greece was taken over. The city of Sparta remained defiant - enemy torches had never before illuminated our great city walls, and as Spartan warriors we would stand firm against the Empire. The early skirmishes cost Sparta dearly - the greatest of our warriors fought and fell. King Leonidas called on the newly trained and inexperienced soldiers; soldiers like my brother and myself. We had to return with our shields - or upon them.
That is okay. That just means you have a days worth of experience with one of the greatest RTS's ever.
i was so sad when i left my pirated copy in another state... (back in the days where torrenting wasn't a thing)
GOG sells it for like 2 bucks bro and I was lucky, my dad had the original game plus all both expansions in their original cases.
yeah, but my first taste of the game was when I was a kid and when GOG didnt exist i spent years looking in video game stores for it (but by then the game was too old)
It's still going on m8, and I think no one's gonna get my quote even if they google it lol. "In war, prejudice takes many forms" Also, TA is cool and all but has anyone seen PlanetaryAnnihilation? That looks sick.
It's... allright. The whole spherical battle thing is disorienting at first and it has maybe half the units TA did. Also for me the UI is completely broken but then again I play at a weird resolution.
Damn it, how?! You got it. -_- It was like one of my favorite games back when I had an Xbox. I mean just the sheer OPness of like divert thing if you look at it in context. Shielded mega-soldiers with regeneration who fall out of orbit, weapons with huge magazines and calibers that rapid fire with crazy types of ammo, and the vehicles... The tank had like 4 seats right? Pilot/main gunner, gunner of the Gatling guns on top, missile pod gunner, and mortar cannon gunner, and it could boost and jump into the air too... With shields and regenerating health. Man those were good times.
Game introductions? Time to be evil: "The colonies of man... Long since abandoned after the fall of the ancient interstellar corporations; Isolated and detached from the empire, free to prosper and flourish. Until now."
"Gods...I hate Gauls. My grandfather hated them too, even before they put out his eyes. Did you think I'd be out here on the frontier without good reason? Yes, Rome needs a strong frontier. No, Rome doesn't need unwashed barbarians at her gates! So, that's why I'm here, the leader of the Julii: to bring Roman order to stinking Gauls. Revenge? That'd be good too. This war against the Gauls won't last long, and when it's done, I've got plans. This is all about power, power in Rome. Going down that road means dealing with all my rivals: the Senate, the Greeks, those Carthaginian elephant-riders, the Scipii and the Brutii families too. After all, the man who controls Rome rules the world...and one day, I will be Emperor."
