I'm new to the servers but it's good to see there is something like this already set up by the admin, a backup of most colony, nothing worst than losing hours of work.
Yeah, that's why I said not to get too attached, haha. I'm taking screenshots every few hours just so I have personal records of my builds too.
Hm. Bugger. That means the universe wipe didn't solve the issue... Well, there's no reason to put RP on hold at this rate, but I do recommend sticking with smaller structures for now! Seems like a good idea. Are we doing rollbacks at all, or just waiting until we see some other form of progress? Or perhaps more testing?
Well, right now we have a camp going, and I fear we're not building anything huge until we KNOW we can build without intrusions.
It's difficult to rollback wiped worlds because they only end up getting wiped again later, usually within only a couple restarts.
So are you suggesting we just rebuild if it gets wiped to see if that prevents it from happening again?
I don't think anything is going to 'prevent' it. Though smaller colonies don't seem to get as corrupted as larger colonies.
Yeah given that Kaz is the only one who can do rollbacks, it's a big strain on him to do so so often. I hear other servers have begun initiating twice a day rollbacks as mitigation, though.
Yeah, some places have installed automatic scripts for such. Probably could coincide with resets, if we wanted to go that route. It isn't the best approach, since it makes building impossible without updating the rollback, but it would probably be better than outright deletion, for one or two of the larger colonies. At least, for now. It's done by-world, so it could be optional, if we implemented it. Though, let's not jump into anything without testing it first. Please.
Oh, and for evidence to "Don't get too attached," Tetanus Fields went down with a crash immediately following the 6am reset. /salute
