RWBY: the perfect example of Godmoding and power gaming. Not to mention "Main Character" syndrome

Well, if you base if off a anime character, but dont give them insane OP god abilities, weeboos can be weeboos.

Also, people complain about people wanting to be the main character, while, there is a such thing as mutiple main characters. For example, the Main characters in the USIF's demise was the USIF. A main character is a character that if they were not there, the story would not be possible. (( IMO ))

You could have removed several things from that event to render it impossible to have the same outcome.

That said, specific plots are not the same as the entire game/community.

 

Woah. People want to be THE main character? Like, of EVERYTHING?

 

That is what people are referring to, which is why it carries with it such a negative weight. You generally see this in alot of roleplay communities where people don't understand others players are not just there for window dressing.

 

It's a sort of weird truth that no one really likes to admit. In most games you are the main protagonist, worlds bend to your will, you can do whatever you want whenever you want, and no one can stop you, that is how they are designed.

Here, you are unique, but you are not 'special', you are one of a hundred faces in the crowd, and you only have as much power over your environment as those hundred strangers will allow.

You can write yourself up as some powerful anime character with glowing armor and gigantic weapons and a stereotypically troubled past...but at the same time the community can also take one look at you and find your character to be silly and over the top, often times refusing to interact with such a cliche and poorly written character, thinking it a waste of their time to roleplay with someone who will undoubtedly try to steal the show and run it how THEY want to, regardless of what any other players think or feel

 

In that respect, it is a self solving problem, people will always create mary sue anime characters, just as people will always make them the butt of every joke on the server

 

I find it hilarious that you're attempting to compare an anime, where magic and such are an everyday thing, to sci-fi.

This almost seems more like hating on the show than anything having to do with RP.

Granted, if someone attempts to play something like one of the RWBY characters, in the SB universe where everything that allows it doesn't exist, then it is indeed a problem.
But take that problem to the mods, don't just whine here, especially if you don't even have any examples to cite.

All in all, another pointless whining post that will contribute nothing useful except more bickering until the mods inevitably close it.

To name a few, Fist fighting a mech with anime MMO level armor (aka NO ARMOR AT ALL).
Magic in the form of a manipulatable "aura" [soul], is an established thing in that universe, this point is invalid.
Bottomless clips.
Characters are often seen reloading onscreen, this point is a lie.
breaking your damn spine to dodge a flying car.
Animation issues, the anime IS low budget., though not all of us are an expert in anatomy either, this point is subjective
jumping massive gaps...
Again, magic is an established thing, invalid point.
I could go on and on. Also my personal favorite. TPing to your space ship to evade a battle your loosing.

Also reading minds. Just... How do they know what eachother is thinking
They're a team, in a well balanced well oiled team you often don't NEED to communicate, even then could use nonverbal cues

All in all, stay in lore, don't break out into high-fantasy when the setting is Sci-fi, and we won't have issues.
