Honestly anime are quick to watch, most have maybe one or two seasons. Which i think is pretty weird, and it also is not wonder that the industry is running out of ideas for shows.
I've seen the first couple of episodes of it. It was pretty good. The concept of the world was interesting, and it dealt with some pretty interesting themes. I also loved the animation style so that helped. I'd give it a 6.5/10 but like I said I only got about 4 episodes in
The last two posters are right. It's a fun show, pretty dang dark at times but it's not bad unless you can't handle dark themes. One of my favorites on netflix is Knights of Sidonia, check it. The animation is a bit stiff but the story and art is amazing.
MSG, really? It's one step up from power rangers and about ten below robotech and classics like Voltron. Just sayin' I have a list that is both adult and must-see at least some point in your life. Most of them are violent and bloody, and have some sex in them(but manage to stay R rated and don't turn into hentai) so if that's not your thing you might want to stick to the super-deformed styled high-school power ranger clone dramas. Not that these are bad, but they aren't my anime bag unless it's used sparingly. Don't learn to hate anime, watch the stuff that keeps it interesting and new and then watch classics that never get old or break the mold. Just like in any genre, there are copycats, don't watch the same crap over and over. These are some of my favorites that you will love. Classics that never get old: Ninja Scroll(old school ninjas, great story) Fist of the North Star(the story is pretty sparse, violence and brutality take center stage) Akira(great story, brutal) Ghost in the Shell(great animation, great story, almost perfect) Princess Mononoke(entertaining all the way through) Nausicaa (if you like this, watch all of the studio ghibli movies) Cowboy Bebop(great series and great characters that don't take themselves too serious) Evangelion(not sure what to say about this, it's gigantic cyborgs fighting monster angels...) Vampire Hunter D(crazy is all I can say, it's horror but with an interesting premise) Blood The Last Vampire(slick animation with a cool story) New stuff keeping it interesting: (last ten years or so) Paprika(mind bender) Knights of Sidonia(mecha + last humans within a carved out asteroid...need I say more?) Attack on Titan(freaking weird, but gigantic naked cannibals vs. steam-punk ninjas) Samuria Shamploo(hip hop + feudal japan) PsychoPass(in the future tech can read your mind) Berserk(crazy soldier with a gigantic sword, demons too!) GITS: Stand Alone Complex(the best scifi series of anime ever to grace a tv screen) Paranoia Agent(hrm, weird is a good one to describe it...) Last Exile( a dogfight series, alternate world of sky fortresses) Darker Than Black(marvel mutants, anime style) HighSchool Drama that breaks the mold to stay interesting: Deadman's Wonderland(bloody violent, prison is now a survival reality show) Sword Art Online(stuck inside an online rpg...hrm...) Death Note(mind bending great story) FullMetal Alchemist(cool world) FLCL(this isn't really a highschool drama, but doesn't fit into the other categories either. I can't tell you about FLCL, you just have to watch it.)
