From an outside standpoint it really is an impressive decision, development of the world wise. Its amazing to see this world mirror our political history on its own.

The Fleet is one of the coolest things, both conceptually and in execution, to come about this server, hands down. My only concern with them is that the strength they've garnered could stunt the potential for other groups down the line in the future, and not only cast a shadow over factions that want to reach that kind of potential, but also a bottleneck. Since they have complete IC control to one of the major RP hubs on the server, it'll be difficult to do business with other factions on a planet that's monitored by them. The only other alternatives would be the Wolf's Den (which isn't so much a city as it is a public bar with a hospital close by), or making your own colony from scratch. The latter... eh, hasn't seen much success beyond those who have significant history here in this community, what with the The Order with Taranis, USCM with Union and it's previous colony, etc. There's also Tetanus Fields, but as much as I have respect for the culminated aesthetic of the place (seriously that place is Godly), even that isn't as active anymore.
We actually don't have very much control over LM, and the city has mostly died as a hub between neglect, migration and our inability to actually act on behalf of the city itself. That said, the Fleet has actually lost a lot of its power to loss of people and lack of new blood (RELIGION?! On MY internet?!). The result, rather unfortunately, has been a handful of people attempting to keep the faction relevant and interactive while the server has been a bit stagnant lately. At the moment, our strength and relevance is a shadow of its former self.
Sums up most of the situation. It's been more than a month with some visitors passing through, and few people can't make many things, even if planned, and for now we stuck mostly to some troop arches to keep things interesting. To make it clear, the Fleet can only speak for it's own military group, not for the civilian administration of LM.
Not really. Even before the floran incident, when Mills was mostly empty, Fleet was still mostly the punching bag for some people trying to make us start trouble just because, even PC's which no one in Fleet ever saw.
