For me I would have to say it's a two way tie between Beauty and the Beast and Hunchback of Notre Dame. Unless of course we're counting Pixar movies, in which case pretty much every Pixar movie would come before the aforementioned. I will say however that Beauty and the Beast holds a special place in my heart since I played Lumierre in our high school production (and what an amazing show that was, $20,000 budget). That play was probably the best time of my life, and I say that completely sincerely.
How did you guys feel about Brave? I thought it was meh. Although, I know a lot of people love it, and I definitely see why. Also, best villain theme... The idea that a Disney movie was willing to handle ideas like lust and the evil in the blind worship of a god is mind boggling, which probably explains how poorly this film did in the theaters. Still, it's done so well. EXCEPT FOR THOSE GARGOYLES. I like to just pretend Quasimodo is imagining the Gargoyles fighting in the battle at the end, because I think that would be a better idea from the start. I haven't actually seen Beauty and The Beast in a while, but I still love it. It's got an interesting main character, a fairly engaging and high-stakes plot, and a heart-warming message. Oh, and I like the songs. They're so famous at this point. If you asked someone on the streets about "Be Our Guest", they'd say it was the one with that candle guy.
^^SO MUCH THIS^^ And yeah, the gargoyles seriously killed the entire film for me, otherwise it would have literally been oscar material. Funny enough, one of the compliments I got when we did an audience Q&A after a show was "I liked the candle guy". Fun times that play.
Definitely. The issue is... they're just not funny. All they do is make fun of each other and Quasimodo. It's like the changes to Star Wars. The film could have been a fantastically dark version of the novel, but it decided to ruin it by trying to capture that... Timon and Pumba Genie Sebastian (Kinda) ...magic. Although, I do have to say that Olaf recently had me laughing quite a bit, partially from his irony, partially from his lovable-ness. :3 Oh, man. That sounds awesome, having all of that for a play. We wouldn't have that type of stuff at my school, and the school sure wouldn't spend $20,000 for it.
Yeah, I really miss acting, and theatre and all that jazz, because for some ungodly reason I decided to study engineering =/
Toy Story stays as one of my favourites :L Monster's Inc too And The Lion King :'( Edit: Did you guys know Remember The Titans was actually produced by Disney? Holy crap, didn't expect that. I loved that movie too :3
Meh, it's fine. It's not animated, but it's a great film. You guys should watch it. Not as well known though :/
I learned how to play "Friends Like Me" at one point in band. That song is super fun to play, especially on trombone.
