Can't login?

the server likes to not read input sometimes. itle be fixed in the reset

 

Yeah I get the wrong password message over and over

 

I keep logging onto the server, and then instantly after my character loads, it crashes me. I dunno if this is server wide or what.

 

Nvm. Was a temp problem and was fixed after a few tries.

 

I forgot my username and password for the server.

 

Not sure if this belongs here,but right now the server can't stay up for 5 seconds I think someone is crashing the server badly.

I get the 'sign in, immediately booted' thing pretty often as well. I've made triply sure that I have no unapproved mods installed, so that's probably server side. Also yeah lots of crashes.

 

The server has been crashing nearly non-stop over the course of a few hours. No one can stay on but a few seconds to a few moments. Just informing.

 

I notice the logs roll text about loading scenery right before I crash, I am sitting over Alpha Malkut (The Den). I suspect it may be the stars and planet imagery loading since that's when the game crashes.

 

Nothings changed after the reset.

 

Hi guys!

So, we went back into the logs to try and figure out what the hexagons is going on, and we've discovered that the server is (surprise surprise) crashing due to technical difficulties.

After some extensive log research, we've determined it's quite probably due to someone putting some kind of modded item or other corrupt feature into the Wolves' Den. (The server keeps going down immediately after trying to load it. It's either an extraordinary coincidence, or that planet be whack.) We're going to try and remove the world or restore it to an old backup, and see if that helps.

It's possible this will not fix the problem, but it might. We'll keep you guys posted, sorry for the inconvenience.

Okay, status update!

We have restored the world to an early version and it is no longer crashing upon beam-down. We might still have issues, and, if so, please report them in this thread. But I'm pretty sure we've killed the problem.

Let's take this as an important lesson. Please do not bring in unapproved mods into the server. As this event has shown, non-vanilla assets can very easily bring about major server instability, especially if placed on a popular world.

Hopefully we won't have this issue again. Once again, I personally apologize for how long it took to fix this issue. The server should be good now - if it is not, please let us know in this thread and we will look into it some more, try to figure the problem out further.

 

Don't worry, it was a player that caused it.. Just tell us who that was and everything will be ok... *pat pat*
