Urban Legends

Throughout Fringe Space there are various legends. Often spoken in hushed whispers, these rumors may be nothing but folk lore; tales that people tell their children. But since there are surprisingly few children in the Fringe, some of these stories may hold some truth.

The Invincible Glitch Warrior

Powerful. Brave. Chivalrous. All the qualities a Glitch Knight should be. However there are there are tales of a free Glitch, one that once roamed the Antares sector. A legendary knight, this Glitch ruled over a mighty guard, commanding both ranks of his kin, and the savage Florans. Bringing peace to the planets on which he resided, the Glitch Warrior fought many a battle. Though some claim to have seen him fall, others say he was truly invincible and his failures merely a feint. Whatever he truly was, Ser John of Taranis is said to still be out there, leading his knights to victory.

Traptooth

Perhaps more factual than some others, many remember the infamous Antaran terrorist. A master of deception, the terrorist excelled in luring his prey out from public areas, snatching them away, and torturing them for hours before snuffing out their life. Many claim him to be a Floran, a demon by the name of "Traptooth", however some claim that this is merely a tale made up by racists to justify their hate. There are whispers that his end was brought about by a team of mighty fighters, doing their duty to the universe. There are other whispers that also claim his end was brought about by an icecube, some stairs, and a vase.

When Antares was infested, very few managed to remain in the clutches of the system. Resources were wiped out, the system wrought with dangerous monsters, and space dead. Sometimes the stories of Antares are nothing more than just that, for the tales of a pink haired man flying through one of the most dangerous areas of space on the back of a giant mechanical horse man, are really nothing more than just myth. Still though, some say that the duo lived on, chasing the hottest of babes, and setting up the wickedest of parties.

The Hero Thief and the Party Crasher

It is no secret that there are those who would wish to bring about the destruction of others for personal gain. However one who would sacrifice himself in the face of this could be called a true hero. Many years ago, it was rumored that there was a device created that could entirely undo any planet it was activated upon. Fearing the damage it could do, an Apex man and his war brother went to retrieve it. Stealing it from the clutches of it's owners, the brothers laid low for many years. Though the man gained no recognition or fame, to those who knew, he was the Hero Thief. However, his war brother, being less virtuous, ended up selling him out, slaughtering his brother at his own party. The Hero Thief is said to be recognized in ways unrelated to his true origins, but he is remembered none the less.

Time Warping Birds

Truly an odd one, but it is rumored that Avians perhaps have some sort of uncanny ability to find themselves in positions of time distortion. Some have said that they knew Avians as young men, only to find them much older some time later. Children becoming men. Men becoming elders. It is all truly ridiculous.

The Almighty Overseer

One of the more enigmatic mysteries of Council Space, this cycloptic beast has indeterminate origins. With delusions of grandeur, this beast was a menace, attacking and threatening many innocents. Curiously however, many claim to have slaughtered this beast. Some claimed it to be entirely indestructible. However it faded away into history, and the U.S.A.F refuses to acknowledge it's existence.
