Her clawed fingers rolled a small piece of cooked meat between them, savoring the flesh, before she delicately placed the morsel between her sharp teeth, and chewed quite hungrily upon it. She was getting more used to the taste of cooked meat, but it still made her shiver somewhat.. Some dark part of her still missed the delight of a true hunt, when the spear and her claws were her allies against a strong beast.

She wanted to be smart, though. To read, to write, to live in civilization; as the Humans did. To learn, to know, to be aware.. She would give up the past for such a future. She was getting closer, too. She had stocked up many books, many treasures of the civilized world in order to better learn, although she had gained them in a manner less civilized than many denizens of sentient planets would enjoy. Assault, stealing; the usual issues, but was it truly her fault? She didn't know better! She was, even as an adult, naive of the universe around her. She was not the only one, though; much of her kind was naive.

Her dark, pitch-black eyes blinked a few times, and she smiled lightly to herself as she leaned back in the pilots chair of her spacecraft; examining a book she had violently retrieved from an Apex's home on a world she hardly remembered. It held numbers, phrases; the information of a world she had just barely begun to divulge into... It was intoxicating! She had to know more! She needed to know more! She didn't want to live in the dark anymore.

She placed another morsel of the cooked meat into her mouth, chewing slowly, before she whispered to herself...

"Haliya issss ssstrong. Haliya be sssmart sssoon. No be bad, and huntsss like Floran tribe.."

The leaves upon her head rustled again, though. She grimaced, and hissed aloud to the nothingness that surrounded her within' her empty spaceship; orbiting the beautiful brown and blue planet below. The Hunt still called to her, and it's promises of true happiness and meat were almost too intense to bear. Could she push away her base instincts until true knowledge arrived? Or would she be forced to return to the dark, violent basics of her peoples' lifestyle?
