Typos and grammatical errors are to be taken icly] So I guess I'm starting a journal now? I guess that's the plan. I haven't written a journal before, but I don't think I can screw it up. So I'll give it a go. My name is Robin "Bunny" LaMaut. I'm a martian from New Boston. I figure this is a good place to start the whole "I'm not a horrible person" schpiel. Well, like anyone else, I can be. I've done a lot of things I'm not proud of. Actually that's a lie, I'm sorta proud of that robbery. Sort of. It's that proud of "I managed to do this" not a proud that would be "I'd do it again in a heartbeat." Anyway. I did alot of stuff. And most of it bad and unjustified. With that in mind, I think it's kinda onvious that I'm not on vacation in Council Space. What kind of dimwit goes on vacation in a place like this? I'm trying to shake off old habits and start over. I'm kind of hopeing writing this will get the weight off my back. Things are going okay now. I think my concussion is nearly gone and I'm starting to get out of this stupid pit of depression. Maybe those are connected? I don't really know much about head injuries. I know they hurt like crazy, though. Moon came by a while ago and gave me a shoulder to cry on. I think that helped. I really just need to get over myself. Spending a week on my ship staying in bed and watching movies isn't helping me. I need to stop looking for myself over starnet, to. I've made a lot of people, I guess I can call a couple of them friends. I don't actually see them around much at all. I mean, the last time I saw Sprocket was while I was getting a concussion. Good friend, huh? Come to think of it, I hope I haven't lost my job. I didn't really give any leave notice. Oak doesn't really seem like a really serious employer on that front. At least I hope not. I guess I'll find out.
Datalog number two already! Look ar this, I'm on fire! Well today was already way better than the rest of the week. I got back to Rag and there were actually people there! Well mainly this absolutely adorable girl. Her name's Isabelle and I guess she got washed between the ears at some point. Which is kinda... Bad. But she's pretty cute, carries some big freaking swords. Poor girl was being harassed by a floran for a good part of the evening. Now, not to be racist (speciesist?) but florans can be down right scary. I think it's the eyes? And the whole... Just eat everybody? They're so unpredictable, you never know if one's gonna be nice like Oak and Sprocket or if they're juat deciding if you're good enough for dinner... But back to cute girl! She seemed really nervous, I mean, who wouldn't be out here? I'm terrified! Anyway, I sorta took it upon myself to make her feel welcome. Bought her dinner and the whole shebang. Plus, adorable sword wielding ninja girls must be protected at all costs. So I think I made a fun friend. She says she can dance, which is great! (She was blushing while she said it though, I have some ideas) I tried to find her some work on Rag, of anything opens up I know who to find. She says she can cook, do self defense, and used to be a hunter-scavver. Maybe she can teach some self defense classes in the arena? Worst case scenario, I point her towards that hellhole Rust. Dangerous work is better than none? Maybe? Probably not, I'd hate to have her hurt herself cause I pointed her that way. It's good to be back out. I think things are looking up. Probably. The Rabbits radio was occasionally picking up a broadcast from some place calling itself monolith. Talk about ominous name, sheesus. What is this, a space odessy? I'll probably check it out tomorrow anyway. Can't hurt.
So I guess I missed a day. Whoops. Should set a reminder on my phone each jight. It's nothing major anyway. Not much really happened yesterday. I went to Rag, saw a few rude-ish people. It's probably just my view of things, anyway. But come on if you're scared or surprised by Florans, maaaaybe, just maybe, a Floran and Glitch settlement ain't your schtick. I do need to talk to that Drake guy about keeping Venus under control. If not for others sakes, for hers. People are twitchy! She's gonna end up hurt and Drake just throwing his hands up and going "Well I can't control her" isn't gonna cut it. I mean, it feels crummy to tell a guy to put another self aware, free thinking being on a leash, but if that's what it comes down to, that's what we gotta do. Anyway, I kinda got fed up with the whole situation and removed myself before I started yelling at those pills. It still left me in an evil way, which sucked. But I figured I should stay true to my word and visit that Monolith place. Place is FREEZING like freaking snotsicle freezing. And kinda creepy. It's kinda weird to just drop a energy factory in middle of a frozen tundra, but maybe it's got to do with some bonus to cooling? Heck if I know. Either way the place gives me the heebie jeebies. They had some customs lady ask me a bunch of questions for a file, name, age, hair color, eye color, yadda yadda. Kinda got me on edge. My name's started to pop up now, buzzers are gonna start posting pictures. Oh right, I also met some Aussie guy on Rag briefly. He got kinda lost in the confusion when a drone showed up. Like a self aware ai drone thing. Yeah. Anyway, that guy showed up. I was still pissy and mopey. Went inside and to be flat out honest, the place is just as dark and ominous as the name implies. Anyway, I guess Kailutt got a guard job there. Kinda fitting? Tall dark and scary fits in with dark creepy and unsettling. It kinda reminds me of home, though. Everything being dark and unsure... Anyway, remet Aussie guy. He actually tried to be nice and offered to buy me a drink. We settled on pop and sorta started talking. He doesn't seem like a socially inclined kinda guy. I dunno. Eventually we ended up basically insulting each other, I guess he just thought we were booshwashimg. I didn't take it that way. Ended up making a comment on how Earth bit the dust. Whoopsie.That got him mad, he kinda stormed off in a huff. I managed to apologize today though! He says we're square. Which is aces, he seems.. Cool? Sorta. Hard boiled kinda guy. Oh yeah and Moon came by before bed, she helped comfort me and get me back from being a jerk. We ended up watching movies and stuff which was great. Wish we hung out more but she's busy on that ...place thing. It sucks. We need to set up another date sometime. Make some plans instead of her just having to deal with me when I'm depressed. But back on track! Today was pretty freaking boring. Just sat around besides that. Talked with the factory owner Kal... I have no idea how to spell it so he'll just be K. K's an avian, black, fluffy, standard bird. Kinda reminds me of a penguin, being on a frozen planet and all that. He says his basically batteries run at 5k to power a settlement for a month. Guess I'll need to check the books and see if Oaks in on it. Haven't actually seen Oak in a while, which is weird. Ironbeep is nowhere to be found. So I guess I'm sorta the ead honcho now. For now, at least.
