Hello, everyone. I've just written up and released a ruleset for Project Zomboid. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. By the way, ILikeCheating mod is banned on Starbound. Cheers, Kazyyk
So all the people that don't play Project Zomboid and only play Starbound, are going to ignore this announcement and never see this, just saying.
Please don't discuss ILC here. This thread is about the PZ ruleset. For those that are curious, it's been linked to the recent freezing/crashing issues. The exact cause is yet to be determined. Posts beyond this point discussing ILC will be removed.
I'm kinda half-sided on the whole not roleplaying your PVP thing, but that's just me. Everything else looks good!
i have strong guns and strong armor *shoots you until you are dead* > jokes aside though in-game mechanics are also icky. honestly, i would say let people choose between ig-mechanics and text-fighting, if they're shooting at each other, they are to shoot their guns. i dont personally own the game so i dont know if its possible to just shoot your guns at all with no target. let alone swing a weapon with no target. so i wouldnt know unfortunately. but what i proposed sounds a tad more reasonable than just "shoot ur target pvp only " the server would become Rust 2.0. and thats icky.
You can shoot guns with no valid target. PVP in Project Zomboid with guns is more or less who clicks first. Melee weapons are far more involved, but can be just as deadly depending on what's being used by whom against whom.
I found kitchen knives to be the best Melee weapons. Sprint, stab, sprint away, wait for them to bandage their bleeding wounds, stab stab.
"you can shoot guns with no valid target" "pvp in PZ with guns is more or less who clicks first" see why i think its a bad idea to just force pvp on people i aint tryna be a frickhead about things by any stretch of the word, im just trying to help y'all understand why i feel the way i do about rpvp being forced.
"1) PVP: Always use in-game mechanics to resolve PvP. Don't roleplay out your PvP. (This would metagame the effects of weapon noise.) 2) PVP: If you are threatened and refuse to turn off your PvP Safety, you must leave the area." contradicted yourself kazzy boy
say it doesnt match my character but i dont want it to be a urinating contest of "WHO CLICKS FIRST". youre forcing pvp onto people who could turn it into something better and a little more memorable.
differing opinions, but you should really consider leaving that optional -- even if it becomes an unspoken rule among players, some people would prefer a roleplayed out bit of combat.
