-Our Mission; Order Above All To apply the sentiments of Law, Order, and Peace to Us and those we Encounter. Existence as a sovereign entity in free-space; we respect the governing forces of the Council. We stand by the belief that trade and diplomacy must always come before war, acceptance before disregard. We seek to not only teach, but to learn. Never assume your method is the most efficient; other cultures carry knowledge that will be assimilated, if they surpass our own. To congregate the ideals of all cultures under one banner, under one Order, is our mission.

-Our Methods; Peace before Death We regard the Mission above all else; it is our purpose and our path. The tools and methods used to better accentuate our progress to the Mission are as follows;

-The Colony of Orwell is governed by the Governor, currently Cara Knox, she holds her seat of power until voted out by the Colonial Council, who will then vote in a new Governor.

Only registered business owners, may vote, with the inclusion of the head of Colonial Security holding 2 votes, in case of a tie. Recognized religious organizations, workers Unions, or other gatherings which claim Orwell as home, may apply for a vote.


-The Laws and Regulations are determined by the Governor appointed by the Colonial Council, and are open for change as the needs of the colony change or evolve.

-Businesses and Organizations seeking a vote, must be registered within the Colony, and up to date on the 5% Taxation Policy, this includes religious organizations as well.

Capital Crimes
[Murder, Rape, Espionage, Vessel-Theft, Attempted Vessel Theft]
Punishable by Execution

Felony Crimes
[Assault, Battery, Theft of Property valued over 500 pixels, Counterfeit Goods/Pixels, Tampering with Trade/Mercantile Vessels or Facilities with intent to harm citizens, or damage vessels/facilities, Interfering with Governor Appointed Security, Tax Evasion, Trespassing: Vital Utility/Industrial Facilities, or Buildings]
Punishable by Fines, Deportation, Incarceration, or in some cases, public flogging

Misdemeanor Crimes
[Unlicensed Posession of Recreational Drugs, Theft valued under 500 pixels, Vandalism, Trespassing: Non-Vital Utility Facilities & Civilian Facilities, Public Intoxication via Drugs/Alcohol]
Punishable by Fines, Flogging, or Incarceration

Regarding Recreational Drugs and Narcotics
All recreational drugs must be sold by an approved vendor with the appropriate license to do so, as proof of taxes paid on the goods sold. These substances range from liquor to stims.

Regarding the Persecution of Cultural/Racial/Ethnic Sub-Groups
Due to Orwell's location in Council Space, the neutrality of council Space will be respected. Miniknog may not hunt, capture, or otherwise harm Apex Refugees/Rebels present on Orwell. Florans are to be offered the same protections, as well as hylotl. Hiveminded Glitch will be detained in the incident that they attempt to reprogram or otherwise harm/detain "Free Glitch"

Regarding Foreign Law Enforcement
Non Sanctioned Security/Law Enforcement is prohibited from practicing or enforcing Law within Orwell. Those who cannot abide by this will be treated as criminals pertaining to their actions, and Council Representatives of the Sector will be notified. Orwell is willing to extradite criminals to the respective faction or colony territory should such an issue arise. However, just as Orwell does not interfere in foreign colonial aw, it does not tolerate interference within it's own, unless backed by the Sector's Council.

 

Jobs are provided by local businesses. However, Orwell is in a position to grant small loans for those wishing to start their own business. If you're credentials and tradeskills are appropriate, there is of course the potential to work for Erebus Industries, a business located within Orwell.
