I griefed my own city (Sanctuary) 'cause I was bored. I fixed all of it by myself the next day. Yolo.
Spawn planets were generally devoid of buildings, and people didn't know how to cheat in resources yet; so, you'd have to race against 50 other people to get enough coal to power your ship and leave. That lead a lot of people to break off into groups at spawn planets (pretty sure I did that with Jim on my first day) and work together to get resources. On top of that, there were no custom colored clothes, no custom guns, no creative mods, and no custom ships. Apparently, skipi had to build his colony from manually harvested materials. Jesus fucking christ. So, in a nutshell, it was pretty chaotic and messy, but things were also a lot different. It's neat to look back.
