"All Life Matters for In Death All are Equal"

Far away in the known frontiers of the galaxy, from the ashes of broken empires and the fires of conflict, there are stories that exist of places untouched by the presence of ambition and conquest.

Some of these places are considered to be cursed; infamous sites of ancient battlefields where the ruins of fallen cities once stood proud, a shipyard of derelict husks, and the scorched plains of colonies glassed from plasma fire or the tentacle parasites.

Other of such places are considered sacred, blessed by a cosmic energy that is untainted by mortal doing; temples whose design have long been forgotten, whose creators have since been lost to the infinite stretch of time and space. It is said that in such places house artifacts of unimaginable power, capable of changing the course of history forever.

But even more rarely are places that are considered by all to be hallowed grounds.

Such landmarks have long been kept in secrecy if only to keep them from interfering with the ongoing cycle of life and strife. It is said that there is a place of peace that rests in the heart of each galaxy, unpolluted by industry, untouched by the mundane affairs of the living.

Once, it was said to have been discovered in the heart of Antares, during the final days of its existence. It is unknown how long that place had been there or whether it was the first of its kind, even one among many incarnations. At times the stories vary, half-truths and half-lies, myths and eyewitness accounts; but the story remains the same.

It is said that the fields of Elysium exist and it is here that one can find an everlasting peace.

In the vastness of space itself, life is often fragile. In the blink of an eye, a distant Glitch crusade whose centuries war has erased its original purpose, a Floran siege that sees the death of entire tribes, and even the brewing conflicts in Council Space - a hundred thousand lives are gone. The blink of another, a hundred thousand more arise, whole histories and characters of equal myth and legend, charging into the blind fray of war, vengeance, and death.

It has always been said, the fields of Elysium stand tall above all else; a ghost of history itself, a shadow of that one great mystery. Even as the original fell in Antares, it is said that the seeds have once more taken root; that as the cycle continues, so too must that tradition be carried on.

But in the end, all life matters for in death all are equal.
