In a locked chest by her bed lays her few personal belongings, among which includes a large notebook, in which are the writings of Gillian Megara, in a curvaceous and flowing font. Entry #1 So, the other day a bunch of pirates attacked our ship and killed all my crewmates. Luckily for me I got to ride an escape pod into tundra on the planet below, where I lay frozen and unconscious for 33 hours. being in such conditions for a long time usually damages your brain really bad, but I'm fine! All thanks to that nice apex Vivian, who was the only person to answer our ships distress beacon 33 hours after it began pinging. Ray was right, she really is nice! She even gave me a hug! No one ever gives me hugs, I usually try to hug people and they run away. But not this time! I was so happy. Shes such a smart and nice lady. Her fur is really soft too. She took me to an Avian named Aerden, who is basically my new best friend! He's also really nice and smart. He owns this huge house mansion castle thing on this planet where it rains fire, its so cool! He let me stay in one of his guest rooms. He healed me up and gave me new clothes and a place to stay and food and new clothes and healed me and hes also really nice and smart! I'm so lucky to be here. Hes doing research on glitch or something. Its kinda confusing because I dont know a lot about glitches. Ray does. Hes a mechanical engineer. I'm just a biomedical engineer. Closest I get to a glitch is installing cybernetic implants in organisms! I also met Joshua, Ray's friend. Ray likes him but I dont know. Maybe its because we didnt shoot things together. He wouldnt let me do surgery on this guy just cuz I dont work at the hospital! He was even a Hylotl! I was really sad, but then I found a box of blood vials from all kinds of species and it was really cool. New Chicago has lots of boring people, but a few are fun. Most dont like to talk to strangers which is silly cuz if you cant talk to strangers how do you make friends? You dont. I'm talking to all sorts of strangers, but none of them like me. Thats okay though, cuz I have lots of good friends like Vivian and Aerden and Ray. I used to have lots of friends. Now I only have three. I like three. Three is the best number cuz triangles have 3 sides and theyre the strongest shape. Thats why they use triangles in bridges. Well, not suspension bridges. They use cables in those. Good night notebook! Maybe I'll find new friends tomorrow?
Entry #2 I was all alone today so I decided to look on StarNet for places who need a good cybernetic/biomedical engineer like me! At first I thought I wanted to work at the hospital at New Chicago but they might not need another specialist. I met Dr. Cyl a while ago, she's really smart! I sent a company called Blue Phoenix my resume, and they want to interview me! I'm so excited! I hope theyre nice, and arent boring like the people at New Chicago. Ray left me a bunch of cool shiny stuff. He even gave me this cute little pistol which looks like a pet fish I had when I was a little girl named Finn. I named the gun Finn, cuz it looks like Finn, and its cute! He left a bunch of cool shiny stuff too, like a lab coat, an electron microscope, a pistol I named Finn, and some other equipmenty things. He even left me a spaceship! I hope I dont crash it and die, that would be silly of me. Anyway, I've had loads of fun here with Aerdem. Hes such a funny birdy, with all his smart friends and weird robot talks and stuff. I forget things a lot but when I eat those poofy things I remember. I hope I dont run out of poofy things.
Entry #3 Well, today was quite eventful. All I remember is waking up in a hospital-like room. I was on a bed, likely used for some surgery on my brain, as I recognized many of the tools and equipment. I wasnt in a hospital, however. It was like a palace, with large cathedral ceilings, towering windows, and magnificent architecture. The edifice, I later found out, was owned by a kind avian named Aerdem, who seems to be a fellow intellectual. I have never met one before, an Avian. The closest I came to meeting one was seeing a dead Kluex-worshiper rolled past my room to be dissected and analyzed. This was a much more interesting meeting. I had assumed most Avians blindly worshiped their god and were generally anti-technology, being solely reliant on their strange physics-defying crystal technology. This Avian, however, was quite like my fellow Hylotl scientists. He is a researcher of medical science, and seems to be a very smart one judging by the grant his organization gave him. Judging from my experience with him thus far, as well as my strangely written previous diary entries, heis a very kind, compassionate, warm-hearted Avian, with nothing but good intentions. I highly regard him for coping with me while in my mentally delirious state. I do hope many Avians are like him. According to Aerdem, I had crash-landed on a northern glacier of a tundra planet, sustaining physical damage from extreme cold, vacuum exposure and concussion as well as psychological damage from seeing my crewmates dying and experiencing the prolonged, numb pain of cold. I was saved by a woman named Vivian, an Apex. I would like to meet her for the first time (again) as soon as possible. My mentally unstable past self seems to be very fond of her. She is Ray's best friend, after all. Ray doesnt have many friends. I am not sure what I ought to do now. Ray is looking into the Reilzurraut Armada. I hear they need a medical professional. Maybe I could work there. Ray could use a friend in the ranks, and besides I need to get reacquainted with this sector. I dont want to be too much of a problem for Aerdem.
Entry #4 I went to this 'New Chicago' location which I wrote fondly about in my notebook. It is quite an interesting place! It seems they are doing some demolition and renovation, as I saw a few destroyed buildings, but regardless it was a fascinating place! I saw nearly every species there! The club is a strange place. There are brilliant lights of varying hues, booming music and fermented drinks. I had a juice, as I have never drunk ethyl alcohol and don't plan on doing it any time soon. I met Aerdem there, we talked for a bit. I met a woman named Yukari, who is a self-proclaimed ninja. She seems like the person I was before the surgery, an outgoing, unrestricted and slightly daft woman. She seemed nice enough. We have similar skin color and fin orientation, which is somewhat strange, especially for my old self meeting someone exactly like her. Regardless, I had an interesting night. I had another dizzy spell, but we came home quick enough for me to rest in silence and gather myself. I think the sensory overload is what gets to me the most. I will have to document when these mental occurrences happen so I can prevent them from happening more often. Being dizzy is certainly not pleasant, and neither is falling unconscious on the floor.
Gillian now carries her entries on a small, expanding tablet in which she stores her entries. Henceforth, most seem to be video files, unless otherwise marked. This one opens in a large room, which looks almost glitch in structure, being much like a castle in structure and decoration. Golden-encrusted furniture adorns the room, with red sheets and drapes. Gillian sits at a wooden desk finished with gold edging. Her red dress embroidered with gold matches the room well, but her starkly contrasting blue skin does not. She smiles, somewhat shyly, and speaks melodiously. Well, hi, whoever's watching! I'm gonna do these video entries from now on, it takes so long to write by hand! Besides, I can convey my emotions and intent more easily this way. So... Today, Aerdem and I decided to go out on adventure, meet some new people, see new places, you know. We chose Taranis, cuz I'd never been there before and it sounded like a nice place. Oh, it was gorgeous! It was like a giant castle, with all these beautiful trees and hanging vines and fountains... The Order really made it a fantastic place to visit! New Chicago really pales in comparison. Well, we walked into an inn, or tavern or something, and met a blind human and an avian who apparently helps her get around. They were really nice, but the human touched my face. It was really weird, but, whatever, they were still really nice! Aerdem talked to them mostly. I just looked around the place, everything was so cool! There were these weird curtain-things that I guess are made of animal skin or something, which is neat. It sounds weird to me, to take the skin off of something dead and hang it up, but hey, its their culture I guess! Glitch culture is really cool. Oh, as we talked, one of them asked if Aerdem and I were... married. I was really surprised when they asked, and it got really hot in the room all of a sudden. I guess they thought we were cuz we were both wearing red and stuff, but still... When we said no, they said something like "Oh, you're dating then. I ship it." What does that even mean, ship? It must be some weird human metaphor. She becomes more serious and contemplative. That got me thinking, though. Recently I've started to feel weird about Aerdem. I'm worried that I'm... starting to like him. He's super nice, and caring, and hes really soft, and he has those cute glasses, and he's a great dancer, and... I dont know, I just think he'll be mad if he found out, and that we couldn't be friends anymore. Plus, what would my family think of me, if I liked an alien? That's like, wrong. You aren't supposed to like other species, that's, like, gross and not supposed to work. Mom said that aliens and hylotl are different for a reason. Dad says every alien is trouble, and they'll only hurt you or try to turn you into one of them. I've always been told that we're better than the other aliens cuz we're more peaceful, but I cant see Aerdem doing anything to hurt me. If he wanted to, he'd have already done it. Ugh... maybe I should ask Ray... She snaps back into focus, behaving more carefree and happy. Oh, I just remembered! Ray has a girlfriend now, he's dating that Katta girl! She's really nice, and shes super good at playing instruments. I wonder how they'll work together. Maybe she can make him not as boring and scientific about stuff. Well, I'd better go now, I need to get good rest if I want my brain to get better! She reaches slightly to the left of the camera lens, and the screen snaps to black.
She appears on-screen, the setting seemingly unchanged in any way, except for Gillian's brilliant smile. Aerdem likes me! So, here's what happened. We decided that I cant leave the mansion because of risk of something scary happening and me losing my memory again, so we just chilled here. After dinner, I found myself thinking about him again, and he caught me while I was. I guess I was staring out the window with a scary look on my face. When he asked if there was something wrong, I insisted everything was fine, but he knew something was up. He looked hurt when I kept saying nothing is wrong, and I felt really bad about hiding. So I came out and told him that I liked him but I was scared he'd be creeped out by it and not want to be my friend anymore. He said that its okay and that he actually liked me too! I'm so happy! I wonder what Ray will think. I wonder what my parents will think even more. Maybe they'll disown me... but I mean, its not like thats a problem. They live thousands of light-years away, so if they do end up being mad, I'll be okay. Aerdem will keep me safe from now on. Still, I hope my parents dont mind.
Gillian sits in a dark red dress at the side of a large, fancy bed. The room styling would be recognized as the interior of Aerdem's mansion. She smiles pleasantly. So, hi! It's been super long, I know. Sorryyyy! Just been real busy with all this dumb drama stuff. Lots of sad things, but lots of happy things too! I'll run through them real quick. Lets see... Aerdem and I are super in love and stuff, Katta got kidnapped, Ray lost all his money, nice people helped them out, I got a job, mom and dad hate us all cuz they're both mean racist meanies, Ray and Katta got married, the Science Fleet is trying to kill us or something, aaaand... thats it! There are lot of sad things going on, but I like to look at the happy things and ignore the sad ones. That way, I'm happy a lot and when I'm happy, I can make other people happy! And when I make other people happy, it makes me happy knowing they're happy, and then I use that happiness to spread even more happiness until my happiness storage overflows and I explode or something! That would be cool. A happiness explosion. Hm. Aaaaaanyways, um, yeah! Gonna do these more often, I guess. Ray says I should document my life so I can look back on it or something. Yep. Fun. Uhh... I dont really have much more to say. Bye for now, I guess!
