Gillfred keeps a thick, browning paper notebook in the chest in his bedroom. He writes in flowing, stark, curvaceous hylotl script, each individual character artfully and deliberately etched with deep black ink. The entries seem to go back a hundred years, however, there seems to be a newer section where the paper is a new, crisp white. The first page is titled "Antares, A New Beginning" Day 1 After years of searching aimlessly, I happened upon a bit of information which led my search to this sector of the galaxy. My wife and I flew over as quick as our old ship would fly, and we settled on the first world we could find with arable land. Upon landing, we realized that this sector, however its reputation, was as beautiful if not more so than previous sectors. The virgin lands were untouched by alien feet, the immaculate beauty of nature surrounded our out of place vessel. This will be our home for the time we stay in this sector. Day 32 Cora and I have nearly finished building our small farm on this planet. Each day we are greeted with the lush, rolling hills and brilliant sunrise. If only we were here under fairer circumstances. The rice has been sown, the house is erect and we are, for a lingering beautiful moment, at peace. Perhaps if we find our children in this lawless sector we will stay. Daily we pray for guidance, and that we may find a resolution to this trial of decades, whether they be alive or not. Day 33 I have broadcast a message advertising our trade to the sector in hopes of seamlessly merging with the locals. Hopefully, by patiently easing into this sector we can find some details as to the whereabouts of our children.
((and lo, Gillfred found Ray, and the parents were reunited with son, and they lived happily ever after the end goodbye))
