I merely want to run and fly Soaring on with shining wings Leaping homeward, to the sky Looking down on earthly things As darkness falls across the land There is naught to do I hold the pendant in my hand The final gift from you I close my eyes, and rest my head I wish that you were by my side I wish I’d fallen in your stead Instead, I tried to run and hide I merely want to run and fly Soaring on with shining wings Leaping homeward, to the sky Looking down on earthly things With wings spread wide, and shining eyes The silver feathers catch the light I dash towards my glinting prize I run and drop, I now take flight All the sorrow, pain and strife Evil shadow, dark desire Gliding ‘neath my newfound life As I rise up, ever higher. I merely want to run and fly Soaring on with shining wings Leaping homeward, to the sky Looking down on earthly things But now I see you, sitting there A shining smile on your face Lightning shines from silver hair I marvel at this wondrous place. I hold you close, and smile now I vow to never leave again But we now stand, and wonder how If we should start our lives again Freer now than e’er before I fold my wings, and take my rest I landed now, my weary soul Perhaps our death was for the best. I merely want to run and fly Soaring on with shining wings Leaping homeward, to the sky Looking down on earthly things Heh. Looks like you guys are beat. Love ya all. ~Blade's Edge
(OOC note: That's a poem written by me. Entering it into the Delta Sigma Theta sorority contest next Friday. Gotta memorize it before then though... be kinda hard for a poem that long.)
Roses are red, Violets are blue, Patton thinks Rommel's a magnificent bastard, because he READ HIS BOOK! I think mine needs a bit of work, but really, writing poems about generals is hard. ~ Laasi
((Omega)) Disheartened. I am not programmed to write poetry. Giving in. However, I shall give it a try. Statement. Roses are red. Metaphor. Just like your blood on my blade. Addendum. The way you turn blue is also like a Violet. Confusion. Why are we saying Violets are blue when they're clearly named after a shade of purple? Regret. I do not think this turned out well...

-"Highly_Illegal_Bounties"- That was interesting... but still. What the hell? That was my poem... Too much testosterone, I think mine needs a bit of work, I merely want to run and fly Get bald. /Lyrics by Sam, THE Sam/ ..but really, writing poems about generals is hard.
-Gareth Temki- I walk a new path Trying not to change But failing at that. ((This is a haiku, just an FYI :3))
-Agilles- Leaves falling from trees, Snow drifting onto the ground, Life leaving your corpse. I know it's a haiku but it's the best I've got.
