A small bundle awaited Anisazi within her home, visibly damp the cloth seemed unimportant next to what held it. A odd red bud, with a rich fruity scent. It was roughly the size of a basketball, and hefty. Parted down the middle as if it had burst open to reveal what now sat within. A slender, strange flower which grew rigid and healthy without the presence of soil within the bud which harbored it. What appeared to be leaves, were thin and sharp to the touch, seemingly made of very dense organic material even with how tiny it was. Beside the bud sat a nondescript rock taken from nearby, weighing down an old piece of parchment. In the common writings of earth, the lightly smeared and blotted charcoal writings were displayed.

    Dear Anisazi,

In our recent ventures past the lake, we recovered this plant among a few damaged texts. None of us were able to identify it, so I was hoping you could shed some light on it. It is better in your care than mine. Please keep us posted with your findings.

    Sincerely,

    Mary
