Floran biology

    Ok, so just to try and clear something up in the Floran information I read that they are unisex. So I took to the internet to try and figure out exactly what this means. The term is apparently is genochory and "Gonochory is less common in plants. For example, in flowering plants, individual flowers may be hermaphrodite (i.e., bisexual, with both stamens and ovaries) or gonochorous (unisexual), having either no stamens (i.e. no male parts) or no ovaries (i.e. no female parts)." (as per wiki found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gonochorism)

    So despite my character's continual assertions that they have no sex organs (or should not have any), they do (or should anyway). I just wanted to make sure that people were not oocly believing that it was true. My character, while a gardener, is not a botanist and has no clue how plants reproduce.

    So, based on this, Florans have male and female genders, but unlike many plants, they are not hermaphrodite, and do not change genders over their lifespan?

    I was originally going to make a post wondering about this.

    There's genuinely NO idea how exactly Florans work past the fact they can regenerate quickly and have Sap for blood, Floran breeding had a MASSIVE discussion on the regular Starbound Forums.

    If anything, I'd say I support the Unisex theory, and they just mate similarly to humans, but really, just leave it to the RPers if they ever uh...do stuffs in a chat or whatever.

    they should have to rub their heads together to pollinate, then the lady floran will produce a seed which they will plant and it will grow into a baby floran :D

    I go by they mate similar to humans cause its easier and less clusterfucky.

    For me, it's a question of Floran gender. Are there two genders? I had-apparently mistakenly-assumed that unisex meant they had a single gender, and reproduced by budding, or something.
