It had become common she was left alone, just the quiet chatter from the television and her thoughts to keep her company. They had been kind enough to send someone to talk to her every day, check on her IV and give her some uplifting words of encouragement. She was thankful for it, she was thankful for everything. They had all been so kind through these last few days, always assuring her everything was going to be alright and she had finally started to believe them. She lifted the remote, flipping casually through the channels, it was hard to find programming she fully understood on the picture box. The Freezer, she learned this place was called, despite it's name her room was quite cozy. Tonight it seemed especially warm though. She slipped out from under the covers, letting her legs hang over the side of the bed. Something was wrong... As she stood, her head began to spin. Hot... too hot. Her thoughts raced as she pressed her hands to the collar, the bright glow illuminating the room from her now visible. She could smell burning, smell herself burning. As she collapsed to her knees the IV came with her, wedging itself against the bed frame. This can't be happening. I am free. They said I was free. I am safe. This is a dream. How? She screamed, but nothing came. They had been the ones to silence her, even in this place. As she succumbed to the pain, she lost the will to fight, slumping down against the floor as the sensation of burning enveloped her. Over the soft crackle she found her eyes transfixed on the television as some sort of advertisement played, a happy human family on a remote island, smiling. "Come get away from it all..." Then nothing. Spoiler: The Scene Ilteic could be found by the bed, sheets tossed aside. She had seemingly tired to leave the room before falling to the floor. Her upper chest, neck, and lower face were charred beyond recognition, the once bulky collar she had worn was gone now, replaced by a thin, fragile looking wireframe which smoldered still. Beneath her crumpled form was a mix of blood and some sort of black substance. Upon closer inspection, what looked like a black liquid was actually a solid pool of metal which was fused to the floor now. Within the black metal were tiny fragments of what one might assume was red crystals at one point.
