Ernal is a 5'4" green-feathered Avian with a low, floofy plumage and tiny beak. His stature and form could only be described as frail, light, and his bones are as hollow as they get. His bill is planted very high on his face, just below the eyes, and is dull, incapable of doing any notable damage. Each one of his limbs and his neck is just a tad longer than it should be, producing a bit of a large gait despite his extremely low height. At a younger age, he was capable of decent strength, but has largely fallen out of his farming job in favor of officework and mediation as leader of Mud. He wears, usually, a button-up shirt, suspenders with some loose-fitting pants, light boots for travelling in the mud, and a very distinctive, slightly singed red scarf around his neck.
