I just added this mod, its the only one I have on. I'm noticing a major drop in FPS/lag on the server when I get on now. Was playing for about an hour before adding this and it was fine. With CF still adding updates to stable everyday, is this safe to have? If they change some small script for something wouldn't the mod need an update? I think we should wait until stable is stable and we don't have updates daily before worrying about cheat mods. Admin mode on single player and Starcheat are capable of getting all the items in the game without having to add mods. 10 minutes later... I'm not so sure the mod was causing the lag, it seems fine now. Its very convenient for building, good work OmegaMatt. I'm still wondering how these small updates could affect the mod though.
That was a good question, so I ran a quick test. A little background, all my mod does is add new recipes with no input cost for most all the inventory items that exist in vanilla Starbound, so in the worst case scenario an update causes an item to be deleted or renamed and suddenly my recipes point to an invalid item. What happens then? As it turns out, the client crashes before you can even hit the main menu, so any risk to the server is caught well before you could even log in. As for lag, this mod can cause a little client side lag (ie. it effects your computer only). The two occurrences due to this mod are when you boot up the game, and when accessing the crafting screens on the crafting table and yarn spinner. This is expected and unavoidable due to the sheer number of items that it adds.
I'm sorry but I'll need more descriptive feedback to fix any possible problems with my mod. What were people doing? What items were they using/building with? How many people were on the planet/universe?
With that all I can say is, it probably wasn't my mod causing the lag. I know for a fact that there are still several people using mods that are explicitly incompatible with the server. If there is a bug in my mod causing lag I am very sorry, but so far I've yet to find any solid evidence of the sort.
Which crafting table holds all the furniture? And does the spinning wheel also hold building materials?
Loved the texture of it, tasted nicely, and i noticed a big boost in building and creativity capacity almost immediately after taking it! 11/10 would shove down throat again
