I'm not sure how to really put this, but the chat runs like crap, and the forums aren't far behind. A quick cap of my browser's mem/cpu usage while having only chat and this post open on my browser. I should also say I'm running Firefox. http://puu.sh/maQ0y/2612a08f2a.png I don't know what's making it such a heavy load, but even just typing this browser hitches. The chat is twice as worse though, I'm able to go entire sentences of typing before the chat bar shows the words, and trying to do anything in my browser with the chat open is excruciatingly slow. I was just curious if anyone else had performance issues on the forums or the chat, and if there was a possible fix or alternative at least.
I can't say for certain, but this sounds like it may be more of an issue with your browser. Have you tried refreshing it lately? That may solve some of your issues with Firefox eating up a lot of resources. Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings | Firefox Help
Done, but with no significant difference. I don't think I'm the only one that's had problems, but I didn't think enough of it to start surveying people. Is there any way to externalise the chat, like you could with IRC?
