" oh butt rubbing is definitely canon yup" Its just lazy and stupid on their end to be honest and I for one will not endorse something as stupid as rubbing butts and a brand new sapling pops outta nowhere...

Plants reproduce over a span of time, however with florans, I'd assume they rub butts, and go their separate ways. After an [x] amount of time passes, Floran sprout is produced after the floran pollinates [x]. The 'reproductive spore' as we'll call it, basically has to mature, before being able to be used as a pollination method, therefore, rubbing butts works. No plant fucking, only butt rubbing.

 

Butt rubbing implies a pollination method, I can dig it. Florans would likely not have any form of sex, since they are PLANTS
