So, I had an idea the other day, for an almost 'roleplay center'. Now, just to clear things up, this is not: A. A large building to host events, or B. A place where events must be held. Anyways, let's get down to details. What is it? So, this is basically a large place, in which has high rewards and high risk, along with many chances for good RP. First, let's talk about the lore. LoreA large city in council space, Haven was thriving, nothing could possibly have gone wrong with it. Suspicious of the Antarans and their sometimes violent ways, the leader decided they would not be letting Antaran refugees inside the city after The Destroyer attacked. However, one day, a bomb went off in the capital building, a large skyscraper in the middle of the city. The building fell, taking with it most of the cities money reserves, a high government officials. One terror attack brought the whole city crashing down, as without the money or the government, the city fell apart. A lack of ability to clean left cars, hoverbikes, trash, and a flood of [either sand or snow] covering the street. Now, the city is empty, except for a large group of deadly, and trained raiders, along with a few lone survivors. With no government, it is now open to investigation by the Antarans. So what's the point?Well, I call this an 'event center' because it is a place in which events based on anything (raider takedown events, survivor rescue missions, or looting missions) can take place. Now, here is a large part about it, Entering this place, is basically already a consent to injury or death. There is a high risk, but there is a high reward for loot in the city. For the non-combat type, you can spend your time looking for survivors, looting, or simply trying to figure out the story of the city. There will also be non-combat missions like turning on generators and antenna, stuff like that. Overall I hope it will be a fun thing for all the players to get involved in, and maybe even take the city back Division style The building processNow, obviously, seeing as this is a city we are talking about, I will need lots of help building. I am waiting until Cheerful Giraffe so I can use a planet with the scorched city background, and use the scorched city blocks to decorate. The poll at the top about whether of not this is a good idea will include an answer about interest in building. So, does this sound like a good idea? I think it'll offer a lot of RP, along with a lot of types of RP, like exploration, investigation, combat, and anything else you can think of. If you have any suggestions, please leave them down below! Also, please take a second to fill out the poll up top so I can get a quick good idea on how you guys feel about this. Spoiler: TL;DR Ya, no, go read it, it took a long time to write
While the idea sounds fun and all, there are two problems I would like to point out. First of all, numbers. Something like this is going to take a very large amount of volunteers. With Antares limited population, this might be very difficult, however you might be able to swap out several rolls with NPCs, such as survivor and rescue missions. While several volunteers are still needed to play raiders, quest givers, ect, it still makes acquiring the required amount a much more realistic goal. The second point I would like to make is that, although rules have already been changed to making hiding behind a consent shield impossible, I can guarantee this is going to scare/chase off several players. Not lots of people want to put their characters in dangerous and potentially deadly situations. Other than that though, I think the idea is pretty good, and I'd be happy to volunteer for it in the future.
Ok, I should rephrase then. . . Getting near the raiders is basically a consent to injury or death, but being away from them in the city is fine
If you need help with wiring, I am willing to put in time on complex rigs (Or simple ones, I can do that too).
