[This is a leather-bound journal Barrett bought off a Glitch for 5 pixels and some food, to keep tabs on his thoughts so he doesn't go crazy.]

Well, just me and Glory again, but she's harder to lug around ever since that fucking asshole cut her strap. Like really, you couldn't just, unhook it? Piece of shit. Um, beamed down to a random planet in the Beta sector, nearish the Decimata system. Found a little dug-out and worked on it for a couple hours, picked up some fallen timber and used it to support the dug-out. Beamed down with my sleeping crate, storage crate and radio, nestled them nice and tidy in it. Not that there's anything IN them. Cobbled together some rocks and stuff, set up some sticks and voila, a cheap little spitroast spot.

Killed a couple herbivores. Don't want to even try to get near the carnivores, yknow, the ones that look at you funny from afar? Used a stick I filed to a point and jabbed right under the base of their skull, quick and clean. Was a pain dragging them up the hill though, and sucked getting the meat off without a knife, but I ate pretty well. Rested for a while after that, just listening to the rain with Glory by my side.

After I woke up from a nap, tried climbing the hill further up to see what was up. To my surprise, found a freaking Glitch village like, right above me. Talk about luck, right? Met the locals, they didn't seem to keen on letting me stay but they were friendly enough. Better than those Asani assholes. Wandered around, questioned for work and the only one that seemed to want anything to do with me was the blacksmith, so I guess I'll be apprenticing under him for a little. No pay, but maybe I'll learn a useful skill.

Got hungry again after work, but they have all these metallic things to eat. Probably not good for my health so I went back down to my little hovel and ate some more of the things I killed earlier. Not a bad day, all in all. Maybe I can talk shit about the Asani security over the radio since they'll never find me.

Leg still hurts, probably nothing serious though. I can walk fine with a little limp. It's nice being able to stretch out to sleep instead of being in that crate, even if the floor is dirt and stone. Time for an inventory wrap up.

    What I have:
    12 pixels
Glory, with 6 bullets. (Emergency only)
    This journal and a pencil
    Large & Small crate
    Radio

    - Log 1, Day 1.

What a friggen day. First I had to dig out of my hole, apparently this planet has frequent hurricanes or windstorms or whatever. I'll have to figure a way to not let myself get barricaded in. Anyway, pushed out, saw the village was partially buried and the villagers were already getting rid of it. I pitched in for a while to hopefully improve my relations with them. They seemed pretty happy that I was helping, but optics can't really express emotions all that well. After that I went over to the blacksmith and told him why I was a little late and he nodded, sent me to work.

I didn't do really much of anything, just learned how to work the bellows and carry around the materials safely. Seems he wants me to learn how it works before I even touch something. That's fine, it's still relatively tough labor since I'm not used to it. He sent me away after a while, since he was done with work for the day as well. Only a couple tools to fix so I asked if I could take some scrap iron left over. He let me and I went off to explore the village a little more.

Nothing interesting, sadly no library to occupy my time, so I went to the fields and helped around there. Rounded up the.. robo chickens I guess? Dunno. And helped them harvest some of the crops. Picking an automato is apparently just like a tomato, except you don't have to be careful with the automato. Just grab and yank. Glitch are cool, man.

On the way home, found a big timber branch. Picked it up and took it with me, got back to my little dug-out and used a rock to bash the iron into the timber so it's like a club with a spike. Pretty hefty but I'm sure with the work I'm doing I'll be able to use it pretty soon. Legs a little less sore but my arms are killin' me.

    Inventory time.

Leg's feeling better, no limp. Made a makeshift strap for Glory out of some vines and stuff. It's hella uncomfortable but better than just cradling her everywhere, now she can rest on my back again. The original strap's on my ship, so it doesn't get lost. Speaking of, I went exploring some of the nearby planets. Didn't find much, but I did find a really old crashsite on one of them. Almost picked clean, except for one box that I tripped over.

Found a pair of pants in it with 21 pixels, two boxes of ammo (not good for Glory, but still handy to have around), some super expired old food, and a small iron nugget. Brought that back to the Blacksmith to smelt down and he thanked me for it. He's had me working really hard around the forge now, especially now that I've proven I'm trustworthy. I'm just making small things right now, like hammer heads and spade tips, but he also had me watch a Glitch come in for some repairs. Turns out, they use metallurgy instead of medicine. Replace the whole armor segment, and use the old piece to help lessen the metal cost.

Feels good, being useful. Maybe I'll be a Glitch doc in the future. The Blacksmith gave me a book, looked like a basic metallurgy book. He didn't tell me what to do so I assume it's to study.

    Inventory-
    33 pixels
Glory, 6 bullets. 1 box of shotgun shells, half empty, 1 box of pistol ammo (9mm)
    Journal / pencil
    Small & Large crate, Radio
    Stick and Iron Spike
    New Pants & A book

    I'm a filthy hypocrite.

    But I need money. Fuck.

Applied to Asani security force, give me a little something something to live off of. I'm gonna keep staying with the Glitch folk for the time being. Speaking of, the blacksmith taught me how to make sharp objects now. Takes a lot more tempering then you think, to do it the old fashioned way. I fashioned myself a little skinning knife for when I go out and hunt more food later. Dragged what was left of the first animals pretty far away, they were starting to smell pretty rough. There's a Glitch girl I keep seeing around, dunno if it's just me or coincidence. Ill have to pay more attention I think.

I felt so naked going to Asani without Glory. I kept thinking about her left up in my craft and I got pretty sad for a bit. Funneled those emotions out by talking to folks. Some girl named 'Chrstina'? I think? Started with a C, can't remember her name. Anyway that was a fake one and her real name is 'Rubes' apparently. Rhymes with pubes, hahaha. She hinted she was some secretmonger bigshot job persondude. I bet she's just a prostitute and too ashamed to admit it. She was about a 6/10 but the attitude made her like, 3/10.

Orange haired girl, don't remember if I got her name. Apparently she signed up for security too. She's about a 7 or 8 outta 10. Didn't talk too much with her so I didn't get a personality check. Some fishbones at the bar let me borrow his PDA to apply to security, pretty nice of him. Wish he was the one I had to deal with a while back about my rifle and not that worthless asshole from before.

God. I have to -work- with him.
    Ugh. Remember. The. Money.

Things are going pretty good again. Wish I could find those cool guys who helped me out from before, let em know I can pay them back for the second pill if the paychecks start coming in. Still got the second pill too. It's been really hard to not take it, but I need a clean head till atleast I get the job.

Oh yeah, I got blazed to the deep reaches of space. Some stoner chick named Christy. Smelled bad, but DAMN did she have the good stuff. I'll have to keep her on tabs as a friends with benefits. The normal kind. Not sure if she's clean enough to consider banging...

I still feel like a shitty hypocrite for signing up for security.

    Inventory:
Boxes (S & L), Club w/ Spike, Journal & Pencil, 34 pixels (found one on the ground!)
Glory, 6 shots. 1 box of pistol and shotgun ammo ea.
    Pants, Book, New Friends

Quite a bit's gone down, but I'll keep it pretty short.

Still no sign of the security chief on Asani, so still no interview, no job. Fuck.

Blacksmith is still teaching me to refine my smaller tool skill, and won't let me move on until I can prove I have the skills to move onto medium toolery and smaller weapons. He was fairly proud of me when I came back yesterday and told him about the little repair I did for a glitch. His name was Vilhelm, cool guy. Killed a feral floran so he's a-okay in my books.

Used a prybar to remove the damaged piece, and welded in a replacement. I hope it has the same flexibility as before, but it wasn't a joint or anything so he shouldn't need flexibility, right? Just an arm plate. Made 60 pixels off the job when I only asked for 30, he said it was strange that a human was pursuing a job like this and he'd support my beginnings. Rad dude.

Zee's gonna see about joining the security force on Asani with me, so atleast it won't be hopelessly bad for me. If security falls through, Christy told me I should join her in the kitchens of the inn. Hm.

Told some Avian fellow (forgot his name) to pass on to Skid that I'd do him a solid like he did me and won't interfere with the Bliss stuff. They were of the same group, no worry of a mole or something I hope.

    Inventory time.
    Boxes (S & L). Club w/ Spike, Skinning knife, Journal & Pencil, 94 pixels
Glory, 6 shots. 1 box of pistol/shotgun ammo.
Pants, book, friends. (Zee, Christy, Skid?)
