Hm, since he's mostly metal, rather than 'losing' electricity -which probably wouldn't happen, as I'm sure Felith has built-in fuses and circuit breakers and even then, there must be a complete circuit for the electricity to flow- , what most likely WOULD happen is that some of his systems would start to fail or shut down since they aren't receiving any electricity. That's how I role-play shadow's cyber arm. While it's armoured and more resilient that normal skin, if you manage to put a simple, .22 caliber AP bullet in it it's going to cause major problems. For example, if you happen to shoot the shoulder or the bicep, the cables insides would be severed and the electronics would be destroyed causing some of the parts to fail, like being unable to move your elbow and some fingers. However you can still rotate your arm with your shoulder and move a couple of fingers. So if Felith gets shot in the leg, it doesn't mean he's going to bleed out and die, it just means that the piece is damaged and unable to be used. Unless they shoot your battery out. However that doesn't mean someone can just come up to you and shoot you and that's it. You might have back-up systems that can provide minimum mobility or an emergency system that ejects the damaged areas and replaces them with a rather fragile peg-leg or hook-for-hands or something along those lines. Doesn't make you invincible but doesn't make you totally weak either.
So you're saying, if you "riddle the guy's chasis up with bullets" he becomes an old man for a week, as opposed to... dying? And that's somehow MORE vulnerable? DISCLAIMER: All that follows is my own personal opinion. Felith is currently the most annoying character on the server. While long ago I kind of respected his somewhat dumb morals and can-do attitude, he has since morphed into an embodiment of every bad hero faction to have graced the server (unsurprisingly, most of which he was a part of) Felith just... isn't a good character. He's bland. He's dull. He's a tryhard hero. A hero without the risk, I may add, since every time he suffers a "loss" it somehow results in an advantage. and his cyborg limbs are a prime example of that. His recent transformation into robo-felith was just the icing on the cake. A grand "I WILL NEVER DIE" cried out across the IC and OOC dimensions for all to hear. With the amount of stuff he's been through, he should be either dead, terminal, permanently crippled or completely insane. But he's not. He's the same old felith sitting around a bar talking about how much of a hero he is and/or the latest injuries he's sustained in a backhanded reminder of the character's immortality. You demand respect for heroics of your own construction, all the while hiding behind consent and/or borderline godmode cybernetics. You spit on the lore, the only Avian aspect of felith is the occasional mention of kluex, awkwardly shoved into an existing phrase where the word "god" usually resides. You preach peace and love between all races, defend florans to the death, surround yourself with like-minded individuals and refuse to acknowledge any other views, no matter the circumstance. Felith should have died long ago. You've said it yourself, Felith isn't really Avian, so why not kill him off and make a human character instead? Start fresh? And please, don't use the "It wasn't me!" excuse when talking about the robo-brain transfer. You are in control of your character, anything and everything that happens is of your own choosing. Your ridiculous transformation is not legitimised due to it technically being performed by another character. It's still your fault.
He is already on this path. Trust me. He is. As for the non-avian thing. That was agreed on loooooong ago I fucked up on that. But again; -its too late to change that-. And in no way is he immortal. Did I play him badly previously? Yes. Will I play him badly now? I will do my best to -not- to. Feel free to call me out on any and all BS I may pull. As for "So you're saying, if you "riddle the guy's chassis up with bullets" he becomes an old man for a week, as opposed to... dying? And that's somehow MORE vulnerable?" The fact was he was able to get himself plugged in in time to keep a constant source of power that first time. And it wasn't that many wounds to the battery itself. But about 5+ is basically guaranteed dead. As for the floran thing. That's how he is. Take that on IC.
How about, you should get rid off Felith and start a new character. You know, becuause if you're supposed to RP better do that on character that isn't associated with powergaming and nonsense. You should totally do that.
End Felith with an event. Everyone would be happy to participate, as it would give to the community something other than the status quo to do. If you can come up with it, people will participate.
I'd honestly not kill off Felith -just because- 1/8 of the server doesn't like him. And especially not with an event specific just for him dying. If he happens to get himself into a situation he can't get out of during normal RP? Sure I'll drop him.
Pictured below we can see the story of one real badass. Spoiler: Whoa! When one of his men suggested running up to throw a grenade, Felith, the brave soul he is, commanded his man to stand down in favor of a more tactful approach. And so he ran across the battlefield, skillfully evading the shower of poison spikes overhead. In positon.. Right in front of the floran holdout, he primed a grenade. Spoiler: Holy cow! As bullets from his allies behind him seemingly curve around him to meet the advancing floran, Felith remains strong in place. The grenade goes off! Instantly vaporizing the two floran who weren't already dead from the shit ton of bullets from behind our winged hero. A robotic arm goes up, stopping the brunt of a sword attack, and the explosion that seemingly went off just a mere few feet away. Spoiler: Our Savior! And here we see our hero returning back behind cover completely unscathed from an apparent suicide run. So I'm hearing a lot about wanting to change, although what I saw here today completely contradicts that. Not only did Felith survive something that would have killed any other person, he made it back completely in one piece with seemingly no injuries. To me, it's a perfect example of someone playing the protagonist and not accepting any real consequences for their actions.
Just 2 cents. I'm just observing this from far, not having RP'd much with Felith (but a lot around him)... But if someone gave the above transcript with the names blacked out to unsuspecting, random people, 9 out of ten would ask if your were godmoding for a reason. I mean no disrespect Guardian, but characters should be easy-come, easy-go in a violent setting, even with a heap of playtime behind them... It's something you should come to accept, out here on the untamed frontier of known space. Just because your character dies, doesn't mean it's a nutshell without a soul, disposable. Good death RP is some of the best you'll ever do. And the more you lose with it, the better it gets. Though, to be fair, that whole attack was strange. (Quite aside from the seven hundred florans not managing to kill a single person.)
To clarify. He threw the grenade INTO the hole. Not in front of him. And I figured Felith was fucked, but apparently you guys didn't think to say "Hey, Felith's in the way". And as for the grenade shit. No one can actually throw a grenade that far. And spines; that again was on me. As for the blades. Its... A blade... Not a vorpal weapon that can cut through anything. Plate armor was DESIGNED in the middle ages to stop slashing blows. And that's exactly what the floran did. -Slashed-.
DO NOT BE AFRAID TO CALL ME OUT ON BS. It is very simple. Please. DO IT. I put that there for a REASON. Not just to look good.
So it wont change anything if you tell me right then and there, instead of AFTER the fact. And I fix it... Makes sense. Well that is, if you just want to get more dirt on me, and aren't really trying to help. ;P
I'm seeing a trend here... This is becoming much like your last felith-opinion thread, where you do nothing but "correct" people and explain why felith escaped various life-threatening situations unharmed, all the while stating that he's not immortal and you're happy to kill him off should the situation demand it. Relying on technicalities and luck is just another form of godmoding. Apparently not, considering his sudden metamorphosis into robo-felith.
Combat RP should be turn based to avoid stuff like this that everyone knows who did what and when did what happen. for example: ra guys type their actions, Floran guys type their actions and then emote out the outcome and next turn. or something like that.
