((idk, i personally feel that "mastering" two fields of engineering even if they are related would take more than 6 years considering that normally the "minor" level takes 4-6 years of university in real life, the engineers i know all were studying like hell too, otherwise they failed out. Engineering is a very difficult and complex field of study))

(("Master Rank - Notated as the top 1% in a given field", you are really the top of your field(s) in just a few years? Major, sure, (top 30% of your field) if you have tons of natural talent and intensive training I'd give you that, but the top 1%? I personally think that everyone with a master level of anything and is not at least 40 years old should and does not only have that one skill (or maybe a few related minors) should be doing some thinking about character balance))

((I mean the only thing my character can do is engineer stuff and act formal and self righteous. He has nigh no social acuity and cant defend himself for crap without his plasma sword, so in my opinion it makes sense for him to be a master level, especially given his upbringing on a research and development fleet where EVERYTHING was about science. But, being an engineering student myself, I know how difficult engineering is, and you make a fair point.

Guess I am kinda being a little OP here. Time to suck it up and admit it I guess, thank you for humbling me in pointing that out. I will adjust it accordingly.))

((in fairness, in comparison to many of the others you were considerably lower on the OP scale and depending on how old your character was was possibly not even on it :D I hope that others take note and follow your lead. Thank you for taking the time to think about this, and thank you for making changes. Please note this does not mean that this character is any less skilled than he was, it is just that being the top 1% is far more difficult to obtain than people think it is, hell being in the top 30% of you field is amazing especially if your character is younger))

((As part of my character's backstory (He was, and I guess still is, an avid bookworm) he learned/researched a lot of science based things, to the point of being a child prodigy. As for the weapons, he learned how to use those as part of his training to become a space explorer and honed by practice. The Avian and Glitch anatomy came from his childhood reading. The Hylotl anatomy? Let's just say he's... fond of Hylotl females, and his family's library had some... Magazines 'donated' by passerby. Let's just say Fletch was a curious child and this 'curiosity' stayed with him into his teen years. Everything goes in these RPs, right? d: ))

((minor in Hylotl aesthetics might be a better fit than anatomy :D, also after looking at nobel prize winners and their education (assuming that those who win the prize can be considered in the top 1%) it looks like based on this system in the thread (and as something to look at for characters) your skills should become progressively narrower as you become more skilled ie minor in human medicine, major in human brain surgery, master in removing deep brain tumors with minimal chance of brain damage in humans. this i could see taking less than the 44 year minimum training time as it is a natural progression and with back story, natural talent, prodigy-ness etc i could even see someone as young as 30 being able to justify this, though anyone claiming to be a prodigy your character should be fairly easy to look up on the starnet as child prodigies often get a lot of press/attention.))

((To be absolutely honest, if there was something in between minor and untrained, like 'educated' or something, I would've used that for most/all of the things I have as minor, but there isn't so I had to settle with minor. Pic related.))
