This settlement will be a cross event space and minor settlement with expansion in mind. Player housing will consist of rooms within the resort, including small economy rooms all the way to penthouse suites. Staff will start in a staff village outside resort grounds. The resort itself will have local security staff, and has contracted the IG for more extensive security purposes. The event space will consist of expeditions on unexplored parts of the planet, but will utilize teleportation to other similar planets in order to keep chat clutter to a minimum. I will break down the key components of the settlement below. Who's running it? - I am acting as a simple helmsmen to keep big picture stuff running. Venom will be running day to day operations, with other candidates taking over various responsibilities What is it? - an expanding resort and casino with staff settlement and exploration space How is it funded? - a small start-up coffer from interested investors and prior business assets, as well as a loan from the council Required buildings for start up - the settlement will require the resort itself, which will consist of a main building with rooms and various amenities. The building will be lavish, but the colony itself will mostly consist of natural resources. Water purification and the works are also required. Resources for the most part are locally sourced. This settlement is not considered a faction stronghold of any kind, but is corporate owned. What this settlement will bring to the server? - I have a history of creating hubs and events. It is my hope to bring a refresher to the server by providing a unique space for the playerbase. By combining events with a low maintenance settlement, my hope is to promote more fluid and engaging RP, rather than the tried and true bar RP. It all sounds fine and good, but I do doubt that the Council would fund this. Simply having it funded by independent sources would make a lot more sense.
I would prefer independent funding so long as it is approved, from what I can tell council loans it the "go-to" to get the ball rolling. We have the sufficient playerbase, the planet picked out, just need approval before we start breaking ground.
You're right in the sense that Council funding is typically the way to go, but in this case they'd be unlikely to support it. Anyways, things seem to be in order here, so you're approved.
