Wait wait FUCKING wait. Commander and USCM in the same sentence? What the hell have you been smoking or did you not see the other messages? Naval CO ranks: ENS, LTJG, LT, LCDR, CDR (Commander), CAPT, and so on. Marine CO ranks: 2ndLT, 1stLT, CAPT, MAJ, LTCOL, COL, and so on. You see the problem? Commander is Navy. And, ahem, Fleet? Marines may have a DSOV or a few aviation craft, but never is a fleet under the USCM.

And the lack of communication with other Earthly organizations makes this all impossible? Couldn't whoever's left out there make a navy to accompany the USCM component or vice versa? The simple refutation and lack of evidence here leads me to believe that no one here is sure of anything...

Who are you people anyways, how do I know any of you have any sort of credibiltiy with any of this...maybe this is just a smoke screen set up by the USCM to obfuscate such news...

Well considering I (and apparently no one) has ever heard about a "United Systems Naval Fleet" or similar acronym, you can understand the confusion.

Here's what I've seen: those last two letters of USCM, Colonial Marines. As in, pertaining to colonies established outside of the Sol System. They obviously have their own fleet (or "group of space-faring vessels" if you refuse to acknowledge the words "Marine" and "fleet" in the same sentence) since they try to travel through and defend human colonies and outposts. Since no other acronym has been heard of out here thus far, I've assumed the remnants of Sol-Based military forces integrated with the group who was best established outside of Sol, or they were all killed by tentacles.

Now, what I've seen/drawn conclusions of and what is true might be two different things, but hey, just showing my perspective.

 

However, the marines use specialised mobile command post and operation vessels called DSOVs. While the USCM has space-faring craft it does not have a formal fleet. That is the United Systems Navy, which does the bulk of aviation and space-faring. USAF is consisting of the USN and USCM along with the sub-branches of Indigenous Forces and so on.

Not sure I like this little rogue group of the USCM. Don't get me wrong, one soldier boy is pretty similar to the next from my past experience, but I hadn't heard of the USAF before leaving Mars and coming here. We had General Kale and the MPs and the forces at Mars, but that was about it. All USCM...

Seems like this groups trying to uphold some archaic linguistics hodge-podge from the last era.

Firstly, we're not a rogue group. We're recognized on that big list of Armed Forces units that the brass have access to. Secondly, for the last damn time, we call ourselves armed forces because we consist of naval and marine elements.

Alright alright, I get it, you have fun playing soldier and all that. But if you really want to do something, go back to Mars where you actually accomplish something, instead of building a random settlement on a worthless desert wasteland. I dearly hope you aren't affiliated with the USCM, because that would be sad for them. But I guess sitting out in the middle of nowhere, talking about how great of soldiers you are and mocking civilians is about as high on the patriot scale as you can get.

((I get the strange feeling this is more confused lore than actual IC viewpoints. May be wrong, just saying. Shoofly and iTuner, nothing personal to you guys but you are relatively new, and the server has been accumulating its own lore, or I guess stance on the lore, for over a year now.
