So, I'm back. Yaaaay... I missed this place, it's basically my second home or some such thing. But that's not why I've gathered you here today. I want halp. Both Ray and Gillian have left Antares with their respective spouses to live happily ever after. I was going to make a new character a month ago but the update was incoming so I decided against it. And now I don't have anyone to play. I want to know what races, skills, services or occupations could be used here right now. What are we lacking? I'm open to experimentation with most things. Just post what you think the sector could use.
We are not lacking Novakids. Do not make a novakid. Do not make a cowboy. Do not make a gunslinger. Do not make a [cutesy] floran. My two cents.
Play a suicidal Floran, and stab the shit out of yourself. That's be a positive contribution for sure. The more Floran characters die the better.
Since 75% of the characters now are Novakids, I suggest something /other/ then a Novakid. Anything other then that is fine, I think.
Knowing your history, maybe Apex scientist, Hylotl pacifist, or maybe even try ot start some sort of religion, I dont think Ive seen that done (well) yet. Frontier engineer, probably human would be best, something in that space. We have enough novakids. We have enough special florans. We have enough mercenaries. We have enough bounty hunters. We have enough shadowy assassins. Just sayin'. Also, on a personal note, good to see ya back!

If you're gonna do a researcher, do a human or Hylotl one. Apex aren't the only race who can research, people. Humans got FTL tech on their own, they are the reason this game exists... Oh, and engineers are overdone. Whattabout a human geneticist or medic or something?
This thread started in early february. My character is already up and running, and, well waddya know, shes a hylotl researcher!
