Tempted to do something like that a while back. Nightclubs, Casinos, Flashy Lights, what's not to love? Definitely worth waiting for 1.0, though.
I'd like to see it but there are those typical problems that always occur. Goes with the territory of course. Criminals, violence, drugs, highrolling bongoloids, bigwig casino bosses, gangs, shoot outs, robberies, guns, money conspiracies. I'd like to see how a Space Vegas would deal with those things and still attract the average Joe that's not a gun-toting toughie.
Or underwater. Space Vegas = Rapture. As for keeping a crime element, you could have a corrupt police force that allows crime to occur, because of the ties to the owners of the Casinos and Gangs. You're a LOT less likely to get rid of the people who are guaranteeing your paycheck. I had outlined a system to make this work on a few levels, before I canned the idea in favor of Erebus. Once that's out of the way, I'm definitely going to have to start on something along these lines ( Assuming someone else hasn't started already. )
