Hello everybody! I'm excited to present some rather interesting news. Some of you may have already noticed that wiped planets are mysteriously re-appearing without Moderator intervention. This isn't magic, but the power of a computer script I introduced to the server a few days back. We've been doing test runs of the script and it seems to be performing excellently, so I'm here to announce it to you all that it exists. Here's how it works: Whenever a planet wipes, the script detects this. It unzips the last backup containing the world file for that planet. It waits until the planet is unloaded from Starbound's memory. (This happens 30 seconds after a planet lacks any players) It then replaces the damaged planet file with the good one from the backup. Tada! So, in a nutshell, if your planet wipes, all you have to do is leave the planet. Make sure everybody is off of it. Take a break. Maybe go get a drink. When you come back, it should be good as new. Be careful, though! If you re-visit the planet before the 30 seconds is up, Starbound will reset the timer. So it's recommended that you wait at least a minute before returning to the planet. The script isn't perfect. It can't handle two or more wipes at the same time, but I'm working on a new version to address that issue. I'll be sure to bump this post once it's released. Nice! So now there won't be too much of a work load for the moderators and people can get their RP on.

But this won't be able to restore the planets after theuniverse wipe right? Because of the probable new randomly generated planets and stuff. Still is handy for the future and now.

Unless they radically change how planets work, it should be fine. I can also change it to adapt to whatever they dish out. (Although the best case scenario would be that they fix the wiping all together)
It could depend, but I'd imagine it'd mainly involve taking some of your time to login and mess around on the test server.
