Hiya, peeps, I've spent the last few months studying and developing this incredible rapidly-growing plant that seems to have a very fast "metabolism". It grows quickly, produces lots of fruit, and is relatively cheap to grow. It's perfect to be consumed by Humans, Florans, Avians, and Apex, but not really by Glitch or Hylotl. But only if it's thoroughly cooked. Glitch and Hylotl can actually consume it with a few stomach aches if the fruit is mashed and cooked three times. I've received a recommendation to distribute this grain to recovering colonies like Tetanus in the past, so I'd like to send a few crates of seeds to these colonies with instructions on how to grow them. I will also need a more convenient name for this plant. Vetimays Oryzatiun is quite a mouthful, so, you know. Please post your thoughts! Conclusion: This plant grows best in cold environments, but will grow rapidly in many other types of soil. It has an average life of 2 months. It grows crazy fast, where if you leave it for 30 minutes and come back, you might see growth already if you look closely. This rapid growth continues for about a week. After a week, it begins producing bushels and bushels of bean-like fruit that ripen in another week. You can tell it is ripe when light tan splotches begin to form on the pod. The fruit is a small hard bean inside a fleshy green pod that must be peeled. Soaking the fruit overnight, and then stewing it for at least half an hour, will prevent any food poisoning. If not picked within three days, the fruit will turn hard and will no longer be edible. After this, the plant remains inactive for yet another week, before producing another crop. It will then wither away. The fruit is normally not suitable for Glitch and Hylotl to consume, but if mashed and cooked three times, it may be eaten with minor stomach aches. -Mysmarri
Really, it's green, but with light tan splotches. And that's just the pod - the actual fruit is brown. If you want ideas, the leaves are blue and the stem is green -Mysmarri
Well, blue-green would be Cyan, right? Or, like, Aquamarine? I don't even know, there are a lot of colors to think about.
