So, for a while i have been thinking how do the weapons and diverse tools of starbound work, apart from their main purpose (Stab, smash, destroy, explode, implode, scream, stab, stab,stab), and i wonder what do people here think about how these futuristic invents work or what quirks they have! As an example, i have always had the idea that The Overcomparator and The Comparator swords had this mechanism where they could retract into a more safe, easy to carry object, in wich the main part of the sword retracts into a base. The main blade being actually a set of smallet plates that get together to make a sharp and comfortable sword for the practical user.
