SBSE is a great tool but actually we can't choose a colour for each piece of an item (ex: Top Hat, can only change colour of its ribbon)
And i never was able to understand how work the advanced colour system.

Hexcodes. It helps to have Gimp/Photoshop.
Printscreen the sprite as it looks in SBSE, copy that into gimp or photoshop, use the color picker, copy the hex code (#000000) paste it into the left column color block, boom. Done

Is there any way to recolor the eyes in your character? Its hard to explain...I mean, you know how for example you have tears or glitch get more eyes with emotes? I want to color the frown shading and the tears and things like that. Sampling the color and adding it into the body/hairstyle pools didn't work.

You could always ask someone to do something for you on SBSE, like, do it on a screenshot in some other log and ask someone

Hell, I'd do it, but I can't access my PC for like, 2 days.

Still really interested in that, one of the female haircut would be perfect for my male character :+( sad kitty face

It's really no trouble, it's just that you'd have to wait 2 days. Someone else would probably gladly do it if you asked here anyway!

Hi guys, wanted to post an update on this since I've been MIA for a bit. Unfortunately I don't have any good news, I had to unexpectedly drop all work on SBSE in order to refocus and prioritize my workload in favor of my paying job. As SBSE has always been a side project, I cannot continue working on it at the moment. I will update the server side assets later tonight which will hopefully fix compatibility problems. Otherwise I'm sorry to say I don't have other updates. The Desktop build remains unfinished with no save support as of yet, but if I ever get time again, or enough money that I can take time away from my job, I will pick things back up and finish my work.

We appreciate all the work you put into this project thus far. I think I can speak for just about everyone here and say, your real life needs far and away outweigh your work on this project. While I hope you will find the time to revisit it, I wish you the best of luck with your current affairs.

Thanks, guys. The current site isn't going any where. I just updated the assets server side to the latest Starbound patch, so any inconsistencies should be resolved.

Your work is highly appreciated. Probably the best starbound editing tool out there! I was wondering if you'd consider (in the distant future) troubleshooting it for macs?
