Hello, StarboundRPers! Just because we could, we now have a very basic IRC. You can get to it by clicking the "Chat" button underneath our logo. There are plans to make it better, but it currently just serves as a means to communicate quickly. It is completely OOC, so no RP should take place in it. Does anybody use this anymore? I feel like I'm the only one in there half the time other than Aissa and the clockwerk robot, Dex, and Liraxus.
I use it sometimes for questions and input regarding building and RP, usually no one ever answers. Someone new joins in and says hello and the chat goes quiet pretty much. Its a hard knock life
Maybe I'm just old, but everything you're saying sounds like an actual IRC room. The way I at least always used them is you just keep the chat open all day forever, and check it every now and again. If you want to try and get someone's attention, typing their name gives a notification. The idea of nobody using it because nobody uses it is self defeating. Pop in, start idling, you can type some things to people or not. The concept isn't really like an AOL chatroom, this is where you go when you want to ask global ooc with things like "Did everyone just crash?" or such things. Basically, pretend it is universe ooc, but you can actually choose not to see it.
