In all fairness Ivy is right. The code of conduct tells you to stick to starbound lore with rule 7 7. No custom character races. Keep to official lore. http://community.playstarboundrp.com/threads/community-code-of-conduct.21/
We've already got people with invisible swords teleporting around and Aiko's Fanboy being silly. we really don't need a bunch of people learning how to swish and flick. Ivy's right, cut out the bullshit, please.
Keep to official lore is a broad application though. Just because it stemmed from people making custom races does not mean that that is all it applies to.
Look, if you want to do that stuff, make your own server, and do it there. I only speak for like three people when I say that it should not be played out here. There are plenty of ways in the universe you can work around just using the stupid magic explanation. That's just being lazy. GET YOUR CREATIVE CELLS WORKING, DAMN YOU.
I'll have to agree that "It's magic, mmkay?" is a quite uncreative and lazy thing to say. You are right in my mind all of a sudden. Yays to you guys. For Science! because the picture
Lore is lore. While magic and the acult are poked at in Starbound, it is very much out of the hands of player characters. If its out there, you can snowflake all you want, but you don't know how it works. So yeah, official word from the staff. No magic. Good day.
I 'nevermind' that, if I haven't already. Glad this has been resolved. EDIT: OH, OH HOW ABOUT THIS. Terraria server. In there, magic would be acceptable. <3
My response to this thread and every post in it: Sometimes, I fucking hate this universe and everyone in it.
That seems all well and good. But that'd only scatter the community even further. That and we'd be limited to one world. EDIT: Also, Redigit hates mods. And I love them. Our opposing opinions makes me THE ANGER.
Terraria is great, sure. But I think you can understand why we don't want you advertising your server on another community's forum. The reason should be kind of obvious. ...And if you actually can't: I apologise, sir, but you're probably lacking in tact. Or basic etiquette.
Very well... I knew it was only a matter of time before I got in trouble for all this... Seems like my Manadrive explanation was... insufficient. And, apparently, so is my ability to keep from making mistakes and trying to blend fantasy into things. Even though, almost any way you cut it, the Bone Dragon is a mystical creature. Perhaps Sci-Fi just isn't my genre, Even though (or perhaps because) my mind seems to be ruled by logic...
